WICOR WALL
Classrooms support AVID by creating WICOR walls
Philosophical chairs
Our students love to debate! Ms. Stucks' 4th grade classroom uses the philosophical chairs model to discuss whether a book character was a villain or misunderstood.

Bardmoor Elementary is Certified AVID Schoolwide

AVID Elementary

AVID stands for: Advancement Via Individual Determination. AVID provides the support that students need to close the achievement gap and encourage college/career readiness skills that will lead to success. AVID teaches and reinforces academic behaviors and higher-level thinking skills.

Bardmoor utilizes AVID and WICOR strategies in prek-5th grade. The students engage daily with strategies that support their learning and help them develop 21st-century skills that they can utilize throughout school and into a career.

Some strategies you might see are note-taking, goal-setting, graphic organizers,  debates, and collaboration activities where students work together to solve problems ad think critically.
